According to some experts, what we’re paying for when looking at any Ferrari model is the legacy that it stems from.

Each model is designed from scratch, with specific parts being engineered produced for that specific model. When looking at some Lamborghini models, what we’re actually looking at is a hybrid with either Porsche or Audi parts. Although the shared technology usually allows for greater performance, the Lamborghini can be said to lack some of the uniqueness held by the Ferrari.

Ferrari also holds its weight – and its price – with its popularity as a Formula 1 favorite. Racing celebrities, such as the legendary Michael Schumacher, helped Ferrari rise to the top in the world of supercar racing.

Are Lamborghinis Faster Than Ferraris?

Once again, the speed of the vehicle depends on its specific model and design.

When it comes to their flagship models, the Ferrari Laferrari and the Lamborghini Aventador are equally matched in speed, both boasting a top speed of an incredible 217mph.

Staying true to its world-renowned symbol, the Ferrari Laferrari does outshine the Aventador with a whopping 789HP.

The Lamborghini Miura holds the record of besting its Ferrari rival, the Daytona. Although the Daytona holds the fastest top speed of the two, 173mph compared to the Miura’s 170mph, the Miura was designed to allow it to accelerate from a standstill to 60mph in 5,75s.

This is a 1,15s difference in acceleration, where Lamborghini leaves Ferrari in its dust.

Although the Lamborghini Aventador is fast, Lamborghini has surpassed the Aventador’s speed with the introduction of the Lamborghini Veneno, which boasts a top speed of 220mph. Currently, the Lamborghini Veneno can be considered the fastest Lamborghini yet.

Unfortunately for the Ferrari supporters, the Ferrari Laferrari has not yet been bested by Ferrari itself and is currently Ferrari’s fastest model.

Still, 3mph slower than the fastest Lamborghini, but who are we to judge?

When comparing which make is faster, another important factor to take into consideration is the weight of the vehicles themselves. Lamborghinis are designed as 4-wheel drive and are therefore considerably heavier than their Ferrari counterparts. As such, there is a difference in their tops speeds, with some of the Ferrari models being faster than the Lamborghini models due to being lighter.
